Celebrate Independence Day with friends at a festive, patriotic bingo designed for Irvine residents ages 50 and older. Enjoy a fun gathering that launches the celebration of America 250. This is a drop-in activity.

Heritage Park, Katie Wheeler, and University Park Libraries

Join us and say happy 250th birthday to the United States! There will be a special storytime followed by crafts and activities. Open to all ages.

Bring extra sparkle to your celebration with our DIY printouts

Gather and celebrate America 250 by joining a nationwide event of neighbors, families, and friends sharing a fun, communal meal to connect with one another. Host a potluck in your neighborhood and honor the freedoms we enjoy as Americans, with the tradition of a Sunday dinner. Sweet Shade Disability Center

Camp Connect participants will enjoy a fun, hands-on activity to celebrate national pride. Participants will explore creativity while celebrating patriotism in a fun, supportive setting.

Enjoy a captivating one-man show celebrating the life of Audie Murphy, the most decorated American soldier of World War II. Broadway and film veteran Duffy Hudson delivers a powerful biographical performance that brings Murphy’s extraordinary story to life capturing his battlefield bravery, personal struggles, and lifelong dedication to supporting veterans affected by post-traumatic stress disorder.

Northwood Community Center

Create a commemorative bracelet using patriotic colors and festive charms — a keepsake to celebrate America 250.

July 14
6–7 p.m.

Katie Wheeler Library

Step back in time and explore the challenges faced by pioneers traveling from the Midwest to California. Get a glimpse into how families prepared for months-long journeys, carefully packing food, supplies, and essential belongings into wagons that also served as their shelter. Learn about the simple, sustaining diet that kept them going, along with the small comforts they brought to remind them of home.

Bommer Canyon Preserve

Capture a family moment at our America 250 photo opportunity. Commemorate the outdoor beauty of our nation while enjoying Irvine's open space trails. Visit letsgooutside.org to register to participate in Wilderness Access Day.

July 24
6:30–7:30 p.m.

Hicks Canyon Community Park

Experience a colonial American craft by weaving your own small textile piece to celebrate America 250. This craft will be offered prior to the Movies on the Lawn: How to Train Your Dragon (2025) that will begin after sunset, weather permitting.

July 30
5–7 p.m.

Great Park

Close out the America 250 celebration by crafting your own colonial-style quill pen, inspired by those used to sign the United States Declaration of Independence. Imagine adding your name to history by artfully practicing your own handwritten signature.

I spy with my little eye, a scavenger hunt at Irvine Public Library! Find the things we hide, and once you’re done, you’ll earn a prize. In honor of America’s 250th Birthday our theme this month is the beauty of the USA. Open to all ages.

Celebrate Park & Recreation Month with a citywide passport adventure across Irvine. Explore parks and facilities to complete your journey for a chance to earn a commemorative America 250 pin, while supplies last. Get out, get active, and discover all that Irvine has to offer.

America 250 Exhibition | Irvine Civic Center

Explore a special America 250 exhibition at the Irvine Civic Center. Discover educational displays on the Declaration of Independence and the pivotal moments that shaped the nation’s history. Engage, learn, and reflect on the events that helped form our country’s legacy.

Field of Valor | Irvine Civic Center Lawn

Honor service and celebrate America 250 at the City of Irvine Field of Valor, expanded this year to 250 flags. Sponsor a flag to honor an active-duty member or veteran whose service and sacrifice helped shape the nation we are today. Join us in recognizing those who have safeguarded our nation’s freedom.
