Established in 1963, Older Americans Month acknowledges the contributions and achievements of older adults and strengthens our commitment to honoring them. The 2024 theme for Older Americans Month is Powered by Connection, which recognizes the impact meaningful relationships and social connections have on health and well-being. Research has shown that as we age, staying engaged leads to better physical and mental health, as well as brain function.

Irvine Senior Services is committed to providing programs and services to help older adults build social connections that combat isolation and support aging in place. Whether you are interested in an interactive fitness class, enjoying a delicious lunch in the Rose Garden Café, or simply attending a Social to make new friends, there is something for everyone. To find the activity that is right for you, download the Irvine Senior Connection at irvineseniors.org/connection. Hard copies are also available at Lakeview and Rancho senior center, and Trabuco Center.
