A Refreshed Website

The City of Irvine’s previous website launched in 2015 and helped residents, businesses, and visitors access City information and services for more than a decade. At 11 years old, the platform was ready for an upgrade.

The City also transitioned from cityofirvine.org to cityofirvine.gov (Open in new window) to support increased security and clearly distinguish the site as the City’s official government website. The .gov domain is reserved for verified government organizations.

The launch of cityofirvine.gov (Open in new window) gave the City an opportunity to upgrade its content management system, improve security and accessibility, and enhance the overall user experience.

While the website has a cleaner look, the structure and organization of information remained largely the same. This was intentional to help ensure continued ease of access for website visitors.

What to Expect

Visitors will notice an updated design, a more prominent search bar, improved search functionality, and easier access to City news, meetings, events, services, and programs.

Because the website structure remained largely the same, users can continue to find information through the main navigation menu or the search bar, now featured more prominently on the homepage.

As with any major website launch, City staff will continue to review pages, fine-tune features, and make improvements based on user experience and community feedback.
