Share Your Expertise. Teach in Irvine.

Have a class idea, a passion to share, or expertise residents would love to learn? The City of Irvine is looking for dedicated, knowledgeable instructors to bring new classes and programs to our community.

Contract instructors have the opportunity to share their skills, connect with residents, and supplement their existing income by teaching through the City’s recreation programs.

Bring Your Idea to Irvine

We welcome instructors with a wide range of interests, skills, and expertise. Before submitting a proposal, keep these guidelines in mind:

  • Classes should offer a meaningful learning experience. Workshops or classes primarily designed to sell or recommend products or services from your business are not permitted.
  • Check out what’s already being offered. We recommend reviewing past issues of Inside Irvine (Open in new window) to see if a similar class or program is already available.
  • Understand the compensation agreement. The standard City compensation for contract classes is 50/50 when a class is held at a City facility, or as otherwise defined by contract.
