We address nearly all aspects of sustainability throughout the City of Irvine, starting with City staff, facilities, and events leading the way in sustainable practices. We aim to keep Irvine clean, healthy, and happy by advancing our projects to better our community.

Free workshop: Electrify your home, cut bills & boost comfort. Heat pumps, financing & installer quotes.
Reduce energy bills and make your home more comfortable with clean, efficient upgrades. Join the nonprofit OC Goes Solar and the City of Irvine for a free Electrify Irvine workshop on home electrification, heat pump HVAC, heat pump water heaters, financing options, and next steps. Spencer Rosen, founder of Home Energy Academy, will lead a practical, homeowner-friendly presentation on how to electrify your home, avoid common mistakes, and plan upgrades that make sense for your budget and home. Complimentary snacks and beverages will be served.

Time: 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Irvine residents can receive up to three pre-packaged bags (20 pounds per bag) of free compost. Compost will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Event supported by Tierra Verde Industries and Orange County Waste & Recycling.

Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
In partnership with the City of Irvine, Waste Management is hosting a free paper-shredding event. Irvine Residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes. The event is first-come, first-served and will end early if the truck capacity is reached. Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.
