Building Safety month was established by the International Code Council (ICC) to raise awareness about both the importance of safe buildings, as well as the role of the new building codes in ensuring their ability to improve public health, provide protection from natural disasters and prevent property damage.
The 2025 ICC campaign theme is “Game On”, encourages all city stakeholders to learn and practice building safety. This campaign marks the 45th edition of Building and Safety month.
The City of Irvine Building and Safety Division is committed to promote the development of safe, accessible, and sustainable facilities for the benefit of the community. This year we join ICC with its 64,000 members, governments, professionals, and corporations to promote building safety where all of us live, work and play.
