Join the Irvine Fine Arts Center for the opening of two new exhibitions exploring resilience, celebration, identity, and the ways people create meaning and belonging.
In Juan Manuel Gomez: En Lo Profundo / In the Deep, artist Juan Manuel Gomez transforms industrial metals, heavy-duty plastics, and other utilitarian materials into mixed-media sculptures that consider vulnerability, protection, and survival. Through acts of deconstruction and reconstruction, the works invite viewers to reflect on how creativity can help us navigate uncertainty and find refuge.
All Together! celebrates the many ways communities come together through art, culture, and shared experiences. Featuring 13 artists working across animation, design, fine art, illustration, and textiles, the exhibition explores joy, heritage, identity, self-expression, and belonging through moments of celebration ranging from grand festivals to everyday gatherings.
Experience both exhibitions during the opening reception Saturday, November 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. Exhibitions and reception are free and open to the public.
