Irvine Community Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast set for November 19

IRVINE, CA (November 6, 2015): “Finding Peace Amid Holiday Chaos” will be the discussion presented by keynote speaker Tanya Brown at the 34th Annual Irvine Community Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast, to be held November 19 at the Irvine Marriot Hotel. Tickets for the 7:30 a.m. breakfast, presented by the City of Irvine, the Irvine Chamber of Commerce and the National Exchange Club, are $45; proceeds benefit the Child Abuse Prevention Center.

Register by Nov. 12 for Staser Fall Scholastic Chess Tournament at the Great Park

IRVINE, CA (Nov. 6, 2015): Scholastic chess players will have the opportunity to put their skills to the test at the 40th Annual Staser Fall Scholastic Chess Tournament, presented by the Orange County Great Park in collaboration with Hanley Chess Academy and American Chess Equipment. Registration closes Nov. 12 for the event, which will be held Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Hangar 244 and the Artists Studios at the Great Park.

Toy Drive to Benefit Military Families During Holidays

IRVINE, CA (October 30, 2015): Join the City of Irvine and the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee in brightening the season for military families. The Holiday Toy Drive, ongoing through Dec. 11, benefits the families of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. Help bring joy to these families during the holidays by donating an unwrapped gift suitable for infants or children up to age 12.
