The 34th Annual Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast, hosted by the Exchange Club of Irvine, City of Irvine, and Irvine Chamber of Commerce, is 7:30-9 a.m. November 19 at the Irvine Marriott. This year’s speaker, certified life coach and author Tanya Brown, will talk about “Finding Peace Amid Holiday Chaos.” Join the non-denominational gathering.

Irvine Fine Arts Center to Host Annual Juried Exhibition

IRVINE, CA (August 13, 2015): The Irvine Fine Arts Center will present the annual juried art exhibition All Media 2015 from August 22 to October 24, 2015. An opening reception will be held Saturday, August 22 from 4 to 6 p.m.

All Media 2015, juried by artist and Torrance Art Museum curator Max Presneill, showcases Southern California artists. The exhibition features painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, ceramics, digital media and more.

Orange County Great Park to Once Again Host U.S. Solar Decathlon

IRVINE, CA (Aug. 12, 2015):  The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon returns to the Orange County Great Park for its 2015 competition, to be held October 8-11 and October 15-18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Solar Decathlon challenges collegiate students from across the country and around the world to design, build and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy-efficient and attractive. This is the second time the prestigious competition will be held at the Great Park; the 2013 contest drew 64,000 attendees.

Irvine Animal Care Center Names New Manager

IRVINE, CA (August 12, 2015):  After a nationwide recruitment, the City of Irvine has appointed J. Kevin Hertell manager of the Irvine Animal Care Center. Hertell comes to the City with more than 30 years of experience working with animals. Since 2010, Hertell served as the Executive Director of the Second Chance Center for Animals in Flagstaff, Arizona. There, he oversaw a staff of 20 and a volunteer corps of 125.
