William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center Expansion Project

Construction on the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center expansion is scheduled to begin Monday, June 29. Improvements include a new pool, splash pad, training and locker room building, pool equipment building, bleachers, Ninja Cross obstacle course, sports lighting, utility upgrades, and other site enhancements.

The project also includes construction of a new parking lot along Walnut Avenue, adjacent to the existing Heritage Community Park parking lot and in front of the aquatics center.

Project Timeline

Construction is anticipated to continue through spring 2028.

Work hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What to Expect

  • No road closures or traffic disruptions are anticipated.
  • Irvine High School and the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center will remain open and continue normal operations throughout construction.
  • Sidewalks along Walnut Avenue may be temporarily rerouted as needed to maintain safe pedestrian access to the high school, park, and aquatics center.
  • Project updates will be shared through City communication channels as they become available.

This project is being completed by City of Irvine Public Works & Sustainability and its contractor, S.J. Amoroso Construction Co.
