Holiday Toy Drive to Benefit Military Families

IRVINE, Calif. (November 1, 2019): Join the City of Irvine and the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee in brightening the season for military families. The annual holiday Toy Drive benefits families of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. Help bring joy to these families during the holidays by donating a new, unwrapped gift suitable for infants or children ages 12 and younger.

Donations can be dropped off November 4–December 13 during the following hours at the locations below:

Irvine Police Department Investigating Homicide

The Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded to a shooting at a residence on Bayleaf Lane in Irvine.

Today at approximately 5:45 a.m., Irvine Police responded to a report of an injured adult male in a residential neighborhood. Officers made contact with the male who reported being the victim of an assault at a residence on Bayleaf Lane. The victim advised there was another injured male adult inside the same residence. Officers entered the residence on Bayleaf Lane and located a second adult male who sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

This Needs Assessment Survey is used to obtain input from community residents regarding affordable housing, community development, economic development, and other needs of City residents. The Consolidated Plan allows Irvine to utilize the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs to enhance the quality of life for residents.

The Red Flag Warning has been extended through Thursday, January 23, at 8 p.m. A Red Flag Warning means warm temperatures, very low humidities, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.
