Irvine Residents with Disabilities Advisory Committee (IRDAC) was established in 1990 by the Irvine City Council to ensure residents with disabilities have equal access in community life. Membership is not to exceed 14 voluntary members, with 51 percent of the committee required to be a person with a disability or directly related to a person with a disability. Committee members are selected through a public recruitment process that is open and continuous. ​

Mission:

IRDAC's mission is identifying and recommending programs and services meeting the physical and social needs of residents who have disabilities, regardless of age. The Committee provides advocacy and support for programs related to community needs and propose recommendations to a variety of City departments. IRDAC also works collaboratively with vital community organizations.

  • AdviseCommunity & Library Services Commission on matters pertaining to persons with disabilities 
  • Provides community presentations

Meeting Information:

IRDAC meetings are held quarterly first Tuesday of designated months at 6 p.m. Meetings are open to the public in-person at the Sweet Shade Ability Center, 15 Sweet Shade in Irvine, unless noted differently below. Meetings are also available virtually through Zoom. See below for more information.
