Hotel Improvement District (HID) Operating Committee

The HID Operating Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every other month at 8:30 a.m. 
Meeting locations vary and are posted on the City Calendar. 

Supporting Department: Office of Economic Development, City Manager’s Office

Power: Directs the distribution and expenditure of HID Directed Funding in accordance with Resolution No.23-27 and serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on other HID-related matters. 

Purpose: Direct HID Directed Funding distribution and identify programs designed to promote tourism and attract, recruit, and retain businesses within the City.

Scope: Direct the expenditure of HID Directed Funding, subject to the limitations and requirements of Resolution No. 23-27, for tourism and economic development programs.

Members: Comprised of seven members: four (4) representatives selected from the Irvine Hotel General Managers group; one (1) City Council member; who serves as Chair of the Committee; the City Manager or his/her designee; and one (1) additional City staff member designated by the City Manager.

Terms: Each member serves a two (2)-year term. If a hotel representative ceases to be associated with the hotel they represented when selected, they are deemed to have resigned, and a replacement will be selected by the Irvine Hotel General Managers group.
