The community is invited to join Irvine Disaster Emergency Communications (IDEC) during the 2026 Field Day Saturday, June 27, from noon to 5 p.m. Portola Springs Community Center.
Field Day is an annual nationwide event, sponsored by the American Radio Relay League, showcasing amateur radio operations in a 24-hour contest and public demonstration.
Visitors can learn about IDEC, a volunteer organization of licensed amateur radio operators supporting the City of Irvine’s emergency preparedness response and general public safety.
Orange County Waste & Recycling will hold a meeting regarding the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill Thursday, March 26, from 6 to 7 p.m. Residents are invited to attend to share their concerns and ask questions.
If you’re unable to attend, we encourage you to submit your questions in advance — responses will be provided following the meeting. The Zoom session will also be recorded and made available online for later viewing.

The third annual CicloIrvine: An Open Streets Event is set to take place Saturday, May 2, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering residents, visitors, and businesses a unique opportunity to stroll, bike, and roll along a 1.3-mile car-free stretch of Irvine Boulevard between Culver Drive and Parkwood.
