The City of Irvine is excited to celebrate community, connection, and clean air through its second annual car-free open streets event, CicloIrvine, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 3. Residents, visitors, and businesses are invited to stroll, bike, and roll along a 1.4-mile car-free stretch of Campus Drive between University Drive and Culver Drive.

Irvine Police Department to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

Irvine, Calif. (March 4, 2025) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driver’s License checkpoint as part of the Department’s continued commitment to reducing injuries and deaths caused by impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted on Friday, March 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the area of Culver Drive and Barranca Parkway.

2025 Open Space Celebration

Join the City of Irvine, Irvine Ranch Conservancy, and Irvine Company for an open space celebration on Saturday, April 19, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Quail Hill Trailhead. Guests will be treated to a free pancake breakfast, family-fun activities, and a hike of the 1.8-mile Quail Hill Loop Trail. The guided hike will begin at 10:30 a.m. and is family-friendly, but please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. 

2025 Irvine Police Department Open House

The Irvine Police Department will host an Open House Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held in the piazza and parking lot of the Irvine Civic Center located at 1 Civic Center Plaza.

See police and fire vehicles along with skill demonstrations from K-9, drone, and motorcycle officers. There will be opportunities to take photos, play games, get a face painting, and receive special giveaways while supplies last. Food will be available for purchase.

2025 National Night Out

Join the Irvine Police Department for National Night Out, an event that brings neighbors and public safety together for a safer and stronger community. 

The event will take place Tuesday, August 5, 5:30–7:30 p.m., at the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex. Meet Irvine Police officers and Orange County firefighters, see the police and fire vehicles and equipment, and take part in activities. There will also be food trucks, community booths, and giveaways. 

City of Irvine Residents with Disabilities Advisory Committee Seeks New Members

The City of Irvine will begin accepting applications for vacancies on the Irvine Residents with Disabilities Advisory Committee Monday, March 3. The committee is a public advisory body of the City of Irvine that reports to the Community Services Commission. Its members provide input on the needs of Irvine residents with disabilities.
