The City of Irvine will hold a Special Municipal Election Tuesday, April 15, for a Councilmember to represent District 5.
At its December 10, 2024, meeting, the City Council called for a Special Municipal Election to fill a vacancy created with the November 2024 election. The open seat is for a term that ends in December 2026.
All registered voters in District 5 will receive a combined voter information guide and a vote-by-mail ballot beginning the week of March 17.

The clinic will take place Thursday, March 13, at the Portola Springs Community Center. Business owners can select a 30-minute appointment between 5-8 p.m. when an appointment is reserved.

The 36th Annual Irvine Junior Games will take place on Sunday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Irvine Stadium. The annual track-and-field event is open to Irvine Unified School District students in grades 4 through 8, and is a key fundraising effort for the Irvine Children’s Fund, which provides scholarships for before- and after-school childcare to low-income working families in the school district.
The University of California, Irvine is collaborating with the City of Irvine to host City of Irvine Day at the Bren Events Center on February 8. Residents are invited to watch the UCI men’s basketball team take on UC San Diego on a day celebrating the relationship between the city and the university.
