The City of Irvine invites the community to celebrate the holiday season with three signature events opening Saturday, December 7, at the Great Park. This year’s festivities include Illuminate Irvine and Holidayz at the Park, and the seasonal Holiday Market hosted by the Irvine Fine Arts Center. The evening includes the lighting of the Holiday Tree and the Great Park Palm Court Arts Complex which will brilliantly sparkle and shimmer — radiating the joy of the season.
The City of Irvine furthered its commitment to inclusion with the opening of its first universal playground at Sweet Shade Neighborhood Park.
Local leaders and community members were joined by members of the Irvine Eagles Special Olympics Basketball Team, which provided a demonstration of the adaptive basketball court, at a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate this long-awaited, accessible play space that meets the needs of all residents regardless of ability.
Irvine, Calif. (November 12, 2024) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driver’s License checkpoint as part of the Department’s continued commitment to reducing injuries and deaths caused by impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted on Friday, November 15, from 7:00 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the area of Culver Drive and Harvard
Avenue.
The City of Irvine has received a 2024 Digital Cities Survey award for its use of technology to enhance efficiency and customer service.
Irvine was ranked ninth among cities with a population between 250,000–499,999 by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute focused on technology policy and best practices in government.
