Irvine Civic Center Transforms Into a Winter Wonderland for 2017 Holiday Season

Celebrate the season as the Irvine Civic Center transforms into a Winter Wonderland from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3.

The free event will feature a 25-foot-tall tree adorned with ornaments and holiday lights, a Joyful Jingles holiday program, children’s activities and train rides. Guests can enjoy refreshments from gourmet food trucks. At 5 p.m., there will be a festive tree-lighting that includes “snow” falling over the piazza. Children are also in for a special treat when Santa stops by for a visit.

Artist Talk & Drawing Session

Bring your sketchbook and pencils and join the Irvine Fine Arts Center for a discussion and drawing session with Orange County-based artist Rick Reese. Learn about his work in the current winter exhibition Shelter and his approach to drawing from nature, and enjoy an opportunity to draw in a group alongside the artist to start exploring (or further develop) your own practice of landscape drawing. Ages: 18+. Registration is required for this free event.

The Irvine Fine Arts Center announces the opening of three winter exhibitions that highlight the link between nature and culture, and humans’ connectivity with landscape. The exhibitions run concurrently Saturday, Nov. 18-Saturday Jan. 6, and a free reception open to the public is Saturday, Nov. 18, 4-6 p.m. at the Center.
