Irvine Police Department Releases Sketch in Robbery at Apartment

Irvine, Calif.  (May 28, 2017) – The Irvine Police Department has released a sketch of the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred Saturday. The sketch is based on the victim’s description.

The Irvine Police Department on May 27 responded to the 600 block of Hayes after a 62-year-old resident reported she had been robbed inside her apartment.

Irvine Police Find New Way to Serve Tip-A-Cop raises funds for Special Olympics

Irvine, Calif. (May 25, 2017) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is proud to partner once again with Special Olympics Southern California for the annual Tip-A-Cop fundraiser. On June 1 from 5 to 9 p.m., Irvine Police personnel will join Special Olympics athletes at select restaurants at the Irvine Spectrum Center to serve customers their meals. All tips raised will go directly to Special Olympics Southern California.

Four Suspects Arrested in Connection with Mail Theft in a Gated Irvine Community

On Thursday, May 18, 2017, just after 7:00 AM, the Irvine Police Department received a call about 2 suspicious subjects accessing a bank of mailboxes in a gated community near Canyonwood and Meadowood.  The resident reported seeing a white Dodge Durango parked illegally with two males accessing the main doors of the mailboxes. The resident thought the activity was suspicious and called police.  When officers arrived on scene, they confirmed that multiple mailboxes had been accessed.

The City of Irvine is hosting two Memorial Day events to pay tribute to America’s fallen: the Northwood Memorial Candle Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, May 28, and the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park on Monday, May 29. The community is invited to these events to pay their respects and honor those who have given their lives while defending our nation.
