The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum, in partnership with the City of Irvine, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Marine Corps Aviation Museum at the Great Park. This milestone event celebrated the legacy of Marine Corps Aviation and marked the beginning of construction for a world-class museum, set to open in spring 2027.

The City of Irvine is accepting nominations for individuals, groups, organizations, and businesses for the City’s Wall of Recognition from November 1 through December 30.
The Wall of Recognition, established in 2006 at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park, recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the community. This year’s honorees will join the more than 420 individuals and organizations that have been added to the Wall of Recognition and will be recognized during a ceremony in the spring.
The City of Irvine and the Fair Housing Foundation will host a free Fair Housing Workshop Wednesday, November 5, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Quail Hill Community Center, 39 Shady Canyon Drive.
The City's Wall of Recognition nomination period is now closed! The City of Irvine is honored to recognize the community leaders who shaped Irvine's beginnings and those who continue to build upon the foundation of excellence for future generations.
The nomination period is open November 1–December 30, 2025. To be eligible for consideration, individual nominees must be or have been someone who has lived, been employed, or attended school within the City of Irvine. Groups, businesses, and organizations must be or have been located in Irvine.
