On Tuesday, July 11, the City of Irvine held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the addition of 166 Level 2 EV chargers at the Great Park. As a steward of the Great Park, the City of Irvine is committed to sustainable operations and management across the 1,300-acre park and becoming a leader in environmental, social, and economic responsibility.

Irvine, Calif. (July 7, 2023) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) arrested a 26-year-old suspect for a residential burglary that occurred on Tuesday evening.
On July 5, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., IPD officers responded to a residential burglary on Iluna in the Altair community. At 7:30 p.m. on July 4, the victim locked his home and left. He returned at midnight and noticed the rear sliding door was open and he was missing cash and jewelry.

The City is starting the next phase of outreach on our Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP). The City of Irvine is starting the tarmac removal process at the ARDA site to make way for the Veterans Memorial Park & Gardens project at the Great Park. Out of an abundance of caution to avoid disrupting students and staff at Cadence Park School, demolition work has been purposefully planned to occur when school is out of session. Residents can expect to experience noise and ground vibration while construction crews remove the 12-inch-thick concrete tarmac.

The City of Irvine invites the community to the reopening of the Cattle Camp at Bommer Canyon Preserve, Saturday, July 15, 9–11 a.m. for a dedication of the completed preserve and recreation area. Join the City as the Cattle Camp at Bommer Canyon Preserve officially reopens to the public as a hiking destination, picnic area, and picturesque event rental facility. The event includes a formal dedication, a hike with Mayor Farrah N. Khan, and informational booths from environmental organizations.
