City of Irvine Named Top Workplace for Second Year in a Row by The Orange County Register

The City of Irvine was awarded a Top Workplaces 2022 honor and ranked No. 17 – on the list of Large Companies with 500 or more employees – in the 15th annual The Orange County Register’s list of Top Workplaces awards and magazine publication.

This is the second consecutive year the City of Irvine has received this prestigious award, and the only Orange County municipality to receive this recognition.

City of Irvine Senior Services is seeking Meals on Wheels volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors in our community. Volunteers assist older adults in maintaining their independence by providing healthy, delicious meals to those who might otherwise be unable to prepare food for themselves.

City of Irvine Completes Venta Spur Bicycle-Pedestrian Bridge Project

The City of Irvine completed the construction of the Venta Spur Bicycle-Pedestrian Bridge and opened it to the public December 6, 2022. The bridge allows pedestrians and bicyclists direct, safe access across State Route 133.

The existing Venta Spur Trail is a shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists alike that extends more than three miles across the northern portion of the City from Peters Canyon Trail to Woodbury East, to Great Park Neighborhoods, and Portola High School.

In partnership with the City of Irvine, Waste Management is hosting a free paper-shredding event Saturday, January 28, 9–11 a.m. at Lakeview Senior Center. Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes. The event is first-come, first-served and will end early if truck capacity is reached. Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.
