Suspect in Five LA Fitness Vehicle Burglaries Arrested

Irvine, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2016) – The Irvine Police Department has arrested a suspect who confessed to five vehicle burglaries at an LA Fitness location in Irvine. Ramtin Kadkhodayan, 26, of Granada Hills was arrested early Friday morning following a residential burglary on Trabuco Avenue.

 

Around 2 a.m. on Friday, a resident in the Windrow Apartments reported that he heard the sound of glass breaking, and when he looked into his garage saw that the window of his vehicle had been broken. He reported that his neighbor’s car window had also been broken.

Irvine Police Department to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

Irvine, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2016) –  The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint as part of the department’s continued commitment to reducing injury and deaths caused by impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted Saturday, December 17, 2016, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the area of Jamboree Road and Michelson Drive.

Irvine Police Arrest Man in String of Residential Burglaries

Irvine, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2016) – The Irvine Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with three residential burglaries in the Woodbury neighborhood. Derek Tucker, 28, of Irvine was taken into custody on December 13 following a string of burglaries that occurred in the area over the last several weeks.

Swearing-in Ceremony Held for Irvine City Council

Newly elected Mayor Donald P. Wagner., along with incumbent Councilwoman Christina L. Shea and newly elected Councilmember Melissa Fox were sworn in to office today in front of a capacity audience during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting at the Irvine Civic Center.

Mayor Wagner was sworn in for a 2-year term, while Councilmembers Fox and Shea will both serve a 4-year term of service. Lynn Schott was selected as Mayor Pro Tem.

Councilmembers Jeffrey Lalloway and Lynn Schott were also in attendance.

Swearing-in Ceremony is December 13

The community is invited to the City of Irvine’s Swearing-in Ceremony at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the Irvine Civic Center.
 
Irvine Mayor-elect Donald P. Wagner, Councilmember-elect Melissa Fox and Councilwoman Christina L. Shea, who has been re-elected, will be sworn into office for their respective terms. 
 
A public reception will be held at 6 p.m. in the lobby following the ceremony.
