Irvine, Calif. (June 20, 2025) – On Thursday, Detectives arrested an animal trainer and his girlfriend after ten dogs in his care died.

The City of Irvine is hosting a free, family-friendly Fourth of July Celebration at the Great Park — a chance to connect as a community and create lasting memories with friends and family. Taking place Friday, July 4, from 4 to 10 p.m., the inaugural event features a community parade, live entertainment, hands-on activities, and dazzling nighttime drone and fireworks shows.

The City is developing a 30-year Urban Forest Master Plan (UFMP), which contains measurable goals and recommended actions to help the City achieve 30% canopy cover and realize our ideal urban forest by 2055.

Irvine, Calif. (June 12, 2025) – On Tuesday, Detectives arrested 25-year-old Gavin Christian Mestas of Irvine for lewd acts that occurred at an apartment community gym.

On June 8, 2025, at about 4:32 PM, officers responded to the gym located on Murica Aisle about a man observed on a security camera exposing himself and masturbating while recording females at the pool. He was not a resident and had allegedly accessed the facility by bypassing the lock with a tool.

Kick off summer in the pool with the Irvine Super Swim Lesson Friday, June 27, at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. Adults and children of all swimming abilities are invited to participate for free in Irvine’s largest group swim lesson in an effort to raise awareness for drowning prevention.

Arrive at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center at 5:30 p.m. to sign up for the on-site swimming lesson, which will start at 6 p.m. Then, stay for a free recreation swim, activities, games, and a screening of the movie Moana 2 at dusk.
