Participate in a worldwide effort to raise awareness for drowning prevention. Arrive at 5:30 p.m. to sign up for the one-time lesson to be held at 6 p.m., then stay for the free recreation swim that includes a water slide, giant inflatable, and diving boards. At dusk, Sing 2 plays on the big screen. Lifeguards will be on duty. For recreation swim, children 6 and younger must be accompanied by an adult one-on-one in the water. 

2023 Juneteenth Freedom Celebration

Learn about Black culture as well as the history and significance of Juneteenth at our second annual Freedom Celebration at the Great Park Palm Court. This free event will feature interactive activities, local organizations, and live performances. The event is open to the public. Free parking is available on site. Irvine Police Investigating a Fatal Traffic Collision

Irvine, Calif. (April 24, 2023) – A 33-year-old man riding a scooter has died after being involved in a collision with a van.

Last night, around 10:35 p.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) responded to reports of a traffic collision at the intersection of Michelson Drive and Mac Arthur Boulevard. Our partners from the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to assist.

City of Irvine to Honor Nation’s Fallen Service Members with 2023 Memorial Day Events

The City of Irvine is hosting two Memorial Day events to honor and remember the sacrifice of fallen American service members: the Northwood Memorial Candle Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, May 28, and the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park on Monday, May 29. To commemorate and pay tribute to those who have given their lives while defending the nation, the community is invited to these events in honor and recognition of all fallen service members.

The University of California, Irvine is partnering with the City of Irvine to host City of Irvine Day at Anteater Ballpark on May 6. Residents are invited to watch the UCI baseball team take on the University of Hawaii while celebrating the relationship between the City and the university. Irvine Mayor Farrah N.
