Irvine, Calif. (October 17, 2023) – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will be participating in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Community members can drop off unwanted medications at the designated locations in the City of Irvine. This free service, which allows the public to anonymously discard prescription medications, addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. The participating sites are:

The City of Irvine is preparing an update to its General Plan, a state-required document representing its vision for the next 25 years and beyond. The 2045 General Plan Update will include goals and policies to help the City reach its long-term vision of preserving and enhancing Irvine’s high quality of life as the City matures.

The General Plan Update’s success relies on input from community members, landowners, and other stakeholders to shape future planning vision and goals.

The Irvine Fine Arts Center invites the community to the annual Holiday Faire Saturday, November 9, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. at the Great Park. The Holiday Faire is an opportunity to support the art community through shopping unique, handmade gifts for purchase from more than 100 local and regional artisans — just in time for the holiday season.

The City of Irvine is in the planning phase of a new library at the Great Park as part of the Great Park Framework Plan (Open in new window). Planned for a site adjacent to the Botanical Gardens and the Veterans Memorial Park and Gardens, this will be the most versatile library in our City.
