City of Irvine Continues to Prioritize Diversity through City Council Initiatives in Light of Recent Hate Incidents toward the Asian Pacific Islander Community

The City of Irvine has always been a leader in celebrating diversity and has continued this proactive approach through recent council initiatives. In early 2021, Mayor Farrah N. Khan and City Councilmembers unanimously adopted the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Resolution and launched a diversity campaign, We Are Irvine, confirming their commitment to the City’s values. As part of this effort, the Irvine Police Department has implemented a hate crime reporting portal.
