Irvine Police Investigating Suspicious Death

Irvine, CA (June 6, 2015): – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is investigating a suspicious death.

At approximately 5:00 a.m. today, June 5, 2015, employees arriving to work at a construction site in the area of Wolf Trail and Orchard Hills located a deceased adult male. The man was located face-down in a remote construction area that has been graded but does not have any buildings. The construction workers called 911 and IPD responded to the scene.

Homicide Victim Identified

Irvine, CA (June 6, 2015): The victim in a homicide case being investigated by the Irvine Police Department (IPD) has been identified as 19-year-old Octavio Jesus Alcala of Santa Ana.

On the morning of June 5, 2015, employees arriving to work at a construction site in the area of Wolf Trail and Orchard Hills located a deceased adult male, later identified as Alcala. The victim was located face-down in a remote, graded construction area that does not have any buildings. The construction workers called 911 and IPD responded to the scene.

Irvine Police to Conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint

Irvine, Ca (June 11, 2015):  The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint as part of the department’s continued commitment to reducing injury and deaths and raising awareness about the dangers caused by alcohol and drug-impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted tomorrow, Friday, June 12, 2015, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in the area of Jamboree Road and Michelson Drive.
