The Wall of Recognition, established in 2006 and located in Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park, is a hallmark of Irvine. Even before Irvine became a city, there was a spirit of community activism, involvement, and pride that set the tone for the municipality Irvine would become. Foster Donation Drive Month Long Event

The community is invited to support the Irvine Animal Care Center's foster Donation Drive throughout the month of March. Support puppies, kittens, and young rabbits by donating supplies such as formula, Nursing Kits, and enrichment toys. Send items from our wish list to empower underage animals and those recuperating from surgery in the center's Foster Care program.

Memorial Day is a time of remembrance for Americans to honor those who have given their lives while defending our nation. In partnership with Northwood Memorial Committee, a special candle lighting ceremony will be held at the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Electrification 101 Workshop Sparks Engagement

The City of Irvine kicked off the new year in January with an Electrification 101 Workshop, bringing together local contractors, nearly 60 community members, and more than 10 partner organizations — including Cool Irvine, OC Goes Solar, and the Switch is On. The workshop offered valuable resources on electrification technologies and available incentives to residents, and allowed participants to directly interact with both City partners and contractors.

In support of “Natural Language: Contemporary Book Art,” the Great Park Gallery presents a three-part, live jazz music series, “Jazz in the Palm Court!” Inspired by a diverse range of composers and musicians, this event echoes the cultural diversity represented in “Natural Language: Contemporary Book Art,” on view at the Great Park Gallery beginning February 11.

Bring folding chairs and blankets for seating around the Gallery and Palm Court; no advance registration is needed for these free events.
