City of Irvine Offers Training on How to be an Upstanding Resident

The City of Irvine, in partnership with OCAPICA and Groundswell, will host a training for Irvine residents on How to be an Upstanding Irvine Resident. The training will take place Thursday, October 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Quail Hill Community Center.

The training, provided by OCAPICA, will teach audience members to address and de-escalate anti-Semitic, anti-Black, and anti-Asian racist situations through Right To Be's 5Ds of Bystander Intervention Methodology. Attendees will understand the positive impacts of the Bystander Intervention Methodology on community members.

The committee is composed of representatives from Irvine’s youth sports organizations. It provides the City Council and the Community Services Commission with input and feedback on policies, programs, facilities, and the needs of the Irvine youth sports community.
