In partnership with the City of Irvine, WM, the City's waste hauler, is hosting a free paper-shredding event. Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes. The event is first-come, first-served and will end early if truck capacity is reached. Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.

IRVINE, Calif. (November 30, 2023): The City of Irvine received a 2023 Digital Cities Survey award from the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute focused on technology policy and best practices in state and local government.
Irvine ranked eighth in the 250,000–499,999 population category for utilizing technology to strengthen cybersecurity, enhance transparency, digital privacy rights, and digital equity, and those finding innovative ways to support solutions for social challenges facing cities today.
The City of Irvine is pleased to announce a new Art at City Hall exhibition, Paul Gardner: A Retrospective, which celebrates the contributions and work of the late Paul Gardner, a visionary artist who had a profound impact in cultivating the local art scene in Orange County. Paul Gardner: A Retrospective opens Monday, December 11, and concludes Friday, March 22. An opening reception will be held Thursday, January 11, 4–6 p.m., at Irvine City Hall.
For over two decades, the late Paul Gardner contributed to the cultural landscape of Irvine by teaching painting at the Irvine Fine Arts Center. Whether inspired by water's graceful flow or the dynamic energy of music, sound, and movement, his work transports viewers to immersive environments. Through a celebratory exploration of his life’s work, Paul Gardner: A Retrospective showcases the deep connection Gardner had with his surroundings. The Irvine Fine Arts Center is pleased to announce its fall exhibitions: Revision and Into the Garden. The exhibitions run concurrently Saturday, November 18 through Saturday, February 3. A free opening reception with the artists is Saturday, November 18, 2–4 p.m., and is open to the public.
Today, Sen. Dave Min (D-Irvine) presented City of Irvine officials with $990,000 in state funding that will allow the Irvine Police Department to introduce a fleet of all-terrain and on-road electric vehicles for policing service in and around the Great Park.
The new fleet will include cutting-edge Ford Lightning trucks, Ford Mustang Mach Es, Polaris Rangers, and versatile all-terrain vehicles, marking a significant step toward modernizing the Irvine Police Department (IPD) vehicle fleet.
