The Orange County Great Park’s annual summer tradition returns Friday, June 22, when the Movies on the Lawn series kicks off.
The community is invited to a series of free family-friendly movies; Flashback Friday films play at the Palm Court and Blockbuster Saturday movies will be screened on the Terraced Lawn. Bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic, or purchase items from gourmet food trucks. Arrive at 6:30 p.m.; movies start at dusk and are weather permitting.

Kick off summer in the pool with the Irvine Super Swim Lesson on Friday, June 22, at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. Adults and children of all swimming abilities are invited to participate for free in Irvine’s largest group swim lesson in an effort to raise awareness for drowning prevention.
Enjoy a night of dinner and laughs at Irvine Improv with comedians Gary Cannon, Patrick Keane and Taylor Tomlinson. Tickets are $35 and include dinner (venue service fees may apply to ticket purchase). Nearly half the proceeds benefit the Irvine Animal Care Center. Ages 18 and older.
Irvine, Calif. (June 4, 2018) – The driver who was killed after his vehicle ran into a traffic pole on Sunday has been identified. Ricardo Jesus Villasenor Santamaria, 39, was a Santa Ana resident.
On June 3 shortly before 5 a.m., Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) personnel responded to the scene of a traffic collision at Bake Parkway and Lake Forest Drive.
The Irvine Fine Arts Center announces the opening of two summer exhibitions that feature the work of Orange County-based artists Lesley Kice Nishigawara and Eric Stoner. The exhibitions run concurrently Saturday, June 16-Saturday, Aug. 11.
Irvine, Calif. (June 3, 2018) – The driver of a vehicle that ran into a traffic pole has died as a result of the crash. On June 3 shortly before 5 a.m., Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) personnel responded to the scene at Bake Parkway and Lake Forest Drive.
Upon their arrival, IPD officers found the vehicle engulfed in flames. OCFA personnel extinguished the fire and found the deceased individual. The person has not been identified at this time.
