Irvine Police Arrest Man in Hate Crime

Irvine, Calif. (July 27, 2017) – After a months-long investigation, Irvine Police Department detectives on Wednesday made an arrest in a hate crime that occurred at a local Target store in March. 

On March 1 at approximately 8 p.m., two women, one wearing a hijab, were leaving the Target at 3750 Barranca Parkway in Irvine. A man in a silver Toyota Camry pulled up alongside them and made a religious slur. The women got into their car and drove away.

Two killed, one injured in traffic collision

Irvine, Calif. (July 22, 2017)– Two women were killed and a man was critically injured in a single-vehicle traffic collision early Saturday morning.

At approximately 2:20 a.m., the Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene of a collision on northbound Jamboree Road between Main Street and Kelvin Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers discovered two female occupants of a Chevrolet Corvette deceased. The remaining occupant, a male, was critically injured and transported to a local hospital.

Women killed in crash identified

Irvine, Calif. (July 22, 2017)– Two women killed in a single-vehicle traffic collision early Saturday morning have been identified. Jamie R. Lopez, 26 of Santa Ana, and Nancy A. Ortiz, 26, of Garden Grove, died in the crash, the Orange County Coroner’s Office confirmed.

Irvine Police Arrest Stolen Vehicle Suspect After Foot Pursuit near Market Place

Irvine, Calif. (July 20, 2017) – A search and foot pursuit Thursday morning that led police to three different apartment complexes near The Market Place has ended in the arrest of a suspect in a stolen vehicle case.

 

At approximately 5:45 a.m. Thursday, the Irvine Police Department received a call from a witness who saw a Honda CRV pushing an Acura Integra from the parking lot of Target at The Market Place, 13200 Jamboree Road, across the street to the Las Palmas apartment complex.
