Irvine Police Department to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

Irvine, CA (Jan. 21, 2016): The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint as part of the department’s continued commitment to reducing injury and deaths caused by impaired drivers. The checkpoint will be conducted tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. in the area of Jamboree Road and Michelson Drive.

New Irvine Police Department Deputy Chief Julia Engen Sworn In

Irvine, CA (December 2, 2015): New Irvine Police Department (IPD) Deputy Chief Julia Engen was sworn in today. Deputy Chief Engen is a 23-year law enforcement veteran who has been with IPD since 1994. She is the first woman to rise to the rank of deputy chief at IPD and is the highest-ranking female in the Department’s history.
