The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a traditional festival celebrated by many East and Southeast Asian communities. It is the second-most important holiday after Chinese New Year and dates back over 3,000 years, when the Emperor of China worshipped the moon for bountiful harvests.

IRVINE, CA (September 14, 2021): Interim City Manager Marianna Marysheva announced today the retirement of Irvine Police Department (IPD) Chief Mike Hamel after 27 years of distinguished service to the Irvine community.
In partnership with the City of Irvine, Waste Management is hosting a free paper shredding event Saturday, October 23, at the Lakeview Senior Center. Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes (dimensions 24 inches x 12 inches) at a mobile shredding unit on-site. The event is first come, first served, and will end when truck capacity is reached. Those customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to pull off to a designated area on the side away from the truck and staff.
