Governor Newsom Issues Regional Stay-at-Home Order Pending ICU Capacity

On Thursday, December 3, Governor Newsom issued a Regional Stay-at-Home Order (Open in new window) for regions where hospital ICU capacity is 15% or lower. The state is divided into five regions, with one of those regions being Southern California. The County of Orange and the City of Irvine is in the Southern California region, which currently maintains an ICU capacity of 20.60%.

City of Irvine and Irvine Police Department Issue Voluntary Evacuation Warning to Orchard Hills Area

On Wednesday, December 2, at approximately 10:14 p.m., a residential structure fire was reported in the area of Silverado Canyon. The Bond Fire has spread to nearby vegetation and has burned approximately 4,000 acres with 0% containment. More than 500 firefighters are aggressively fighting the Bond Fire from both the air and the ground.

Bond Fire in Silverado Canyon Area - No Threat to Irvine

The Irvine Police Department has LIFTED the previously issued evacuation warning for the Orchard Hills area of the City of Irvine. Residents who voluntarily evacuated may return to their homes. No care and reception centers are open at this time.
