15th Annual Irvine Global Village Festival set for September 24, 2016

Experience sights and sounds from around the world at the 15th annual Irvine Global Village Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bill Barber Park in Irvine. Recognized as one of the best cultural festivals in Orange County, this daylong celebration features more than 100 musical, dance and demonstration performances; international cuisine; a Kids Village with crafts and activities; cultural and religious exhibits; and an international marketplace.

September is Emergency Preparedness Month

September is Emergency Preparedness Month, and the Irvine Police Department would like to share some important steps with residents and businesses to help protect family members and employees in an emergency. Irvine residents are encouraged to be prepared for any disaster that may impact our community, including earthquakes, fires, floods and utility outages.

All Media 2016 Features Southern California Artists

The Irvine Fine Arts Center presents its annual All Media exhibition Sept. 3 through Oct. 22. The juried exhibition featuring the work of Southern California artists kicks off with a free opening reception Sept. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The exhibition is juried by independent curator Dan Cameron, who will announce awards during the opening reception. Cameron was formerly Chief Curator at the Orange County Museum of Art.

Join the Irvine Animal Care Center for Comedy Unleashed

The Irvine Animal Care Center presents the inaugural Comedy Unleashed fundraiser, to be held Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Irvine Improv. Help support the Animal Care Center by coming out for a night that will include dinner and laughs.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at the Improv, located at the Irvine Spectrum Center. Comedian Jason Collings, a Southern California native who has been featured on “The Tonight Show,” will take the stage at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35, with nearly half the proceeds benefitting the Center.
