Assembly Bill 368 Amendment Proposes Golf Course Site for Southern California Veterans Cemetery

Earlier today, Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva announced the proposed amendment of Assembly Bill 368 supporting the Golf Course site as the future home of the Southern California Veterans Cemetery, as designated by the Irvine City Council on July 23, 2019, during a special joint meeting. This amendment will remove the previous location, Amended and Restated Development Agreement (ARDA) site, from the bill.

Southern California Association of Governments Public Hearing: RHNA Allocation Methodology

The Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) will conduct a public hearing related to the Proposed RHNA Allocation Methodology with options. The RHNA is mandated by State Housing Law to quantify the existing and projected need for housing by income categories for each local jurisdiction during specified planning periods.

Join the Irvine Fine Arts Center for the opening reception of All Media 2019. The annual All Media exhibition showcases artwork from Southern California artists. Works include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, ceramics, video, installation, and more.

The opening reception is Saturday, September 7, 4-6 p.m., with an awards presentation at 5 p.m. Parking and admission are free.

Veterans Cemetery Update - August 15

California State Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva amends Assembly Bill 368 to support the Golf Course site as the future home for the Southern California’s Veterans Cemetery and urges motion on the project. According to Quirk-Silva's online post, she states, “With all of this information, I have decided to amend my bill. The new language will state, that the site for the veteran’s cemetery would be the Golf Site. In addition, it will state that Cal Vet, will move forward with a site analysis, as soon as possible.”
