September is Emergency Preparedness Month, and the Irvine Police Department (IPD) would like to share some important steps with residents and businesses to help protect family members and employees in an emergency. Irvine residents are encouraged to be prepared for any disaster that may impact our community, including earthquakes, fires, floods, and utility outages.
In an effort to enhance community engagement, the City of Irvine announces the launch of eComment, a new web-based feature that allows community members to participate in local government.
Using a computer, tablet, or mobile device, eComment provides citizens with an additional opportunity to easily submit comments on City Council and Orange County Great Park Board meeting agenda items without having to attend the meeting in person.
The City of Irvine is accepting applications for two member-at-large positions on the Irvine Senior Citizens Council. The Senior Citizens Council acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters related to aging adults, including the planning of facilities, transportation, services, and programs, as well as the City’s Senior Services Strategic Plan. The Senior Citizens Council consists of seven members; five are appointed by the City Council, while two member-at-large positions are selected through a public recruitment process.
As part of an ongoing effort to enhance customer service, the City of Irvine is launching a new, streamlined, web-based platform for planning, building, and engineering applications.
With Irvine Ready!, residents and businesses will no longer have to travel to the Irvine Civic Center to apply and pay for planning and building applications, engineering review, or permits.
The City of Irvine is seeking individuals interested in enriching the lives of older adults by volunteering to become a CHAMPION (Community Helper Assisting Mature Persons in Our Neighborhood). This unique volunteer position is designed to meet the needs of isolated seniors by matching them with the interests of a friendly visiting volunteer.
