Irvine Police Department Seeks Assistance in Locating a Critical Missing Adult

Irvine, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2017) – The Irvine Police Department is searching for a missing 77-year-old resident. David Masoum is approximately 5 feet tall, weighs 135 pounds and has white hair. He was last seen at his residence on Bronze in the Woodbury neighborhood around 10:26 a.m. today.

Masoum has dementia and is in need of medication. He was last seen wearing navy colored athletic pants, a white short sleeve shirt, and a black jacket. He speaks limited English.

Letters to Santa 2017

Santa is busy getting ready for the holidays and would love to hear from his friends in Irvine.

Heritage and Turtle Rock Community Parks will be accepting and sorting Santa's mail this holiday season. All letters will receive responses, which can be picked up where the letter was dropped off. Allow one week for resposnes; classrooms, allow two weeks. A drop-off and pick-up box will be located at both parks.

Irvine Retains Safest City Status

Irvine, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2017) – Irvine is the Safest City of its size for Part 1 violent crime, FBI data for calendar year 2016 shows. The information released today shows that Irvine has the lowest rate of violent crime of any City in the nation with a population of 250,000 or more. This is the 12th consecutive year Irvine has earned the Safest City designation.

The FBI’s Annual Uniform Crime Report measures Part 1 crime, which includes murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny-theft, auto theft and arson.
