Irvine, Calif. (Dec. 31, 2017) – An Irvine man died Sunday as a result of a traffic collision at Jeffrey Road and Irvine Boulevard. Gary L. Bye was 64 years old.
Irvine, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2017) – A package thief suspected in at least 20 crimes throughout Irvine is in custody. Anthony Brian Palusso, 33, of Mission Viejo was arrested Tuesday night.
The Registrar of Voters has determined the sufficiency of referendum petitions that were filed in the City Clerk’s Office on November 9. The referendum pertains to the amendment of the Zoning Ordinance reflecting a land exchange of the existing Amended and Restated Development Agreement Transfer Site (Ordinance No. 17-08). The City Clerk is required to certify to the City Council the sufficiency results at the next regular meeting on January 9. At that time, the City Council’s choices will be to repeal Ordinance No.

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A drunken driver was charged with murdering two University of California, Irvine (UCI) graduates and a UCI student, as well as injuring a fourth student, in a high-speed collision after running a red light in Irvine.
Irvine, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2017) – Irvine Police Department detectives are searching for a suspect involved in two sexual battery cases that occurred in the Woodbury area in the past two days. The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s; 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall; thin or medium build; wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants; and riding a skateboard.
Irvine, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2017) – The Irvine Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Saturday, Dec. 16, in conjunction with the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” effort. The checkpoint will be held from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Jamboree Road and Michelson Drive.
