Construction on the Wild Rivers Water Park at the Orange County Great Park will begin July 7.
In April 2020, the Irvine City Council approved a location and lease for the water park. In November, the Irvine Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve the conditional use permit for the 20-acre project at the southeast corner of Great Park Boulevard and Skyhawk.

A favorite City of Irvine annual summer tradition returns this July, when the Sizzlin’ Summer Concert series kicks off at Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge. The community is invited to a series of free family-friendly concerts in the park covering a variety of musical tastes.
The community is invited to United to Heal, a remembrance ceremony to reflect on the service and sacrifices brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This special evening will bring together nurses, firefighters and community members to remember those we lost throughout the pandemic and honor the first responders protecting Orange County. The ceremony will be held at Bill Barber Memorial Park in Irvine on Saturday, July 10 at 7:30 - 8:30pm. Registration starts at 7 p.m.
The City of Irvine welcomes the community back to enjoy summer events, and the family-friendly Movies on the Lawn series at the Orange County Great Park will no longer require pre-registration. Open seating on the Terraced Lawn will be first-come, first-served for the entire community, and admission is free. Movies on the Lawn continues various Saturday evenings through August 21. Movies begin after sunset, approximately 8:15 p.m.

Chuck Jones: Season of Creativity is an exhibition designed to explore the process of animation from script to screen through original art, writing, and other ephemera created by Chuck Jones. Visit the Orange County Great Park Gallery beginning Sunday, July 4, through Sunday, September 12 to learn how Jones helped bring to life some of the most famous Warner Bros. characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Wile E. Coyote, and Road Runner.

The community is also invited to participate in ongoing art and creativity programs featuring Jones’ world-famous cartoon characters, educational lectures, and a film series inspired by the artist’s work and legacy.
