The City of Irvine invites the community to learn about maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle at the 15th annual Healthy Living Expo, September 20, 9 a.m.–noon at Lakeview Senior Center. This free event is designed for adults ages 50 and older and features fitness demonstrations, health screenings, educational presentations, and a wide variety of health and wellness exhibitors. The Healthy Living Expo will also have a food truck and an opportunity drawing with fun giveaways from local vendors.

The City of Irvine has once again been recognized nationally for utilizing best practices in public procurement. For the 19^th consecutive year, the City’s Administrative Services Department has received the prestigious annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) award from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI).

Free Compost for Irvine Residents

Irvine residents can receive up to three pre-packaged bags (20 pounds per bag) of free compost 9 a.m.–noon Saturday, October 19, at the Great Park in Lot 8. Compost will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

—Lot 8 is located off of Skyhawk and Great Park Blvd, next to Wild Rivers.

Support animals in need while enjoying a night of dinner and laughs at the seventh annual Comedy Unleashed event Tuesday, September 17. This fundraiser, held at Irvine Improv, features fun and funny performances by comedians Willie Simon, Eric Freedman, and Felicia Folkes. Tickets are available for purchase online or at the Irvine Improv ticket counter.

The City of Irvine invites the community to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the third annual Fiesta Latina en Irvine Sunday, September 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Great Park.

This free, family-friendly event will feature an array of exciting activities, including live music, delicious cultural cuisine, captivating art displays, and engaging cultural demonstrations. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the rich history, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic Americans while enjoying a day filled with fun and entertainment.
